St. Augustine Parking Guide

Where to park, how much it costs, and how to get around once you’re here.

Parking in St. Augustine: Everything You Need to Know

St. Augustine was designed in 1565 for foot traffic, horses, and carriages. The streets are narrow, many are one-way, and parking is limited. Once you know the system, it is completely manageable.

The Main Parking Garage

Your best option for a full day downtown is the Historic Downtown Parking Facility at 1 Cordova Street, adjacent to the Visitor Information Center.

  • Capacity: 1,200 vehicles
  • Peak hours: $20 per vehicle
  • Off-peak: $5 per vehicle
  • Open 24 hours, 365 days a year
  • Handicapped spaces at no charge
  • St. Johns County residents: $3 per entry with resident discount
  • Monthly passes: $32 per month

Enter via Orange Street or West Castillo Drive. Note: the ParkStAug app does not work at the garage, pay at the garage directly.

Street and Lot Parking

Street and city lot parking costs $2.50 per hour, limited to four hours per session.

Free times:

  • Sundays before 1:00 pm at city-marked pay stations
  • National holidays at city-marked pay stations
  • Every day before 8:00 am and after 9:00 pm

Key downtown lots include the Castillo de San Marcos lot on Avenida Menendez, the lot behind the Lightner Museum, Grace Lot on Charlotte Street, and street parking on Granada, Cedar, and parts of King Street.

City-owned pay stations display the city crest. Privately owned lots have separate rates and pay stations.

The ParkStAug App

Download the free ParkStAug app on iOS or Android at parkstaug.com. Register with your license plate and a credit or debit card and pay for parking from your phone. You can also extend your session remotely. Works at city lots and meters, not at the parking garage.

Free Shuttle Service

During major events and busy weekends, the City of St. Augustine runs free Park and Ride shuttle service from satellite lots with drop-off and pickup at the Visitor Information Center.

The STAR Circulator is a free bus route around Historic Downtown with stops at the Visitor Information Center, Cathedral Place, and other central locations. It operates daily from 10:00 am.

RV Parking

Recreational vehicles may park for free at 3 Riberia Street during daytime hours. Overnight RV parking is available at the same lot for $35 plus tax per night. Overnight camping is not permitted.

Accessibility

Parking is free at any city pay station for vehicles with a handicapped placard or plate, including at the Historic Downtown Parking Facility. If designated handicapped spots are full, guests with appropriate placards may park in any open spot free of charge.
