Fountain of Youth
Ignore the name for a minute. The Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park is much more interesting when you stop thinking of it as a place where tourists drink strange-tasting water and start looking at the ground underneath it.
This is one of the places where St. Augustine’s earliest history comes into focus, including the Native people who were here before the Spanish settlement and the archaeology connected to the city’s beginnings. Go for the fountain if you must. Stay for everything around it.
A guide-written story for this place is coming soon.
